Dr. Francisco Pabalan, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in Refractive Cataract Surgery, as well as LASIK and Corneal Crosslinking in our state-of-the-art LASIK Center and Eye Clinic in Riverside, CA. Since completing his Ophthalmology training at the University of Iowa in 1986, serving the US Air Force for 4 years and entering private practice in 1990, Dr. Pabalan has completed over 13,000 ophthalmic surgeries. He is also certified in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) using both Omni Viscodilation and Hydrus microstent implantation to treat glaucoma in combination with cataract surgery. As a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Dr. Pabalan stays abreast with the very latest in medical and technological advances in eye care via continuing education, journal review, and specialty conferences.
When Dr. Pabalan has time off, he enjoys playing his violin, which he has studied for over 6 decades finding that the discipline needed to achieve the reward of fine music is much like the discipline needed in eye surgery to produce fine vision. He directed his church choir for 22 years and still partakes in the liturgical music program, as he has for 51 years. Dr. Pabalan plans to spend his ‘retirement’ years doing missionary eye care, spending time with his wife and family of 6 children, hitting the beach, traveling far and wide, going to concerts, and of course, playing his violin.
