Dr. Adam Tanaka is a cataract and glaucoma surgeon who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Washington. Following that, he discovered the field of ophthalmology working for CorneaGen, a global nonprofit, performing cornea recoveries from organ donors for use in corneal transplants. After working in this role, he moved to Boston to earn a Master in Public Health, Master of Biomedical Sciences, and Doctor of Medicine all from Tufts University School of Medicine. Adam spent his internship during the challenging year of 2020 at Stanford University in General Surgery. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and returned to California to finish training with a glaucoma fellowship at UCLA.
During his free time, Adam enjoys cycling, triathlons, woodworking gifts for family and friends, pizza making, golf, and sewing scrub caps. He is excited to serve his patients for all their ophthalmic and glaucoma needs.
